Thoughts:
In another post about the 'Beat Generation' i found out about a new movie coming out this year about the novel On the Road by Jack Kerouac. Kerouac's most famous work that was produced in 1957 after he traveled the country in search of experience. He found sex, drugs, alcohol, friendships, freedom, and hardships. He was not interested in the middle class life that everyone else was aiming for, he was interested in the people who didn't care about luxuries. He found a life of truth, a life that isn't polluted with consumerism. Most people think money is the answer but Kerouac new that a life that was honest would generate true happiness. On the Road the movie will feature a great cast including Sam Riley, Garrett Hedlund, Kristin Stewart, Kirsten Dunst, Tom Sturridge, Viggo Mortensen, and Steve Buscemi. I am very excited to see Riley take the complex character role as Jack Kerouac and i believe his personality fits the part quite well. Hedlund also seems to fit the role as well in playing a fun, outgoing character as Dean Moriarty (Neal Cassady). And of course i am excited to see Kristen Stewart and Kirsten Dunst together, who wouldnt. Then if that was not enough there are two veterens Mortensen and Buscemi (Top 5 favorite actors). So there you have it, two up and coming young studs, two beautiful actresses, and two old bulls.
Actors:
Sam Riley: Recent Work (Control, Franklyn) Future Work ( On the Road)
Garrett Hedlund: Recent Work ( Friday Night Lights, 4 Brothers, Country Strong, Tron) Future Work ( On the Road, Tron: The Next Day)
Kristen Stewart: Recent Work ( Twilight Series, Into the Wild) Future Work ( On the Road, Snow White and the Huntsman, Twilight Series)
