Spielberg made one of the biggest impacts on Hollywood's all time movie production. He has shown us how a true Science fiction movie is made by evoking fear, happiness, and sadness through his fabricated creations. This 64 year old native of Cincinnati, Ohio has created a brand on films that has labeled them with automatic success. His involvement in film and television demands the attention of millions. And it is often difficult for a director to become a household name, but saying he is accomplished is an understatement.
In his early career he directed movies including Jaws, Close Encounters of The Third Kind, Raiders of The Lost Ark, and E.T. Then because that wasn't enough he completed the Indiana Jones trilogy, and directed the blockbuster Jurassic Park. And since then he gained enough momentum to plow through films left and right like a run away train scooping up 3 Oscars another 118 wins, and 81 nominations. In 1993 he was already well known in the film industry as one of the greatest directors, writers, and producers. Let's review what he has done since then:
Directed: Schindler's List, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Saving Private Ryan, A.I. Artificial Intelligence, Minority Report, Catch Me If You Can, The Terminal, War of the Worlds, Munich, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Producer: Falling Skies (TV), Terra Nova (TV), Transformers, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Super 8, Cowboys & Aliens, True Grit, Hereafter, Eagle Eye, Band of Brothers (TV), Men In Black Men In Black 2, Jurassic Park 3, Shrek.
Steven Spielberg is still on his path for greatness as a speeding train, but when will the train slow down. When will the man behind the blockbusters decide to call it quits. After all he is 64, and retirement must be in the back of his mind. Or maybe not, maybe this is what he will do until the day he dies, Aiding in the production of the greatest cinematic and televised adventures we have seen. Guiding both the movie and television industries into the future by acting as a mentor for many young and promised directors in the time to come.
